Alejandro Cardenas For Proenza Schouler

Uncategorized
.

Meet the man responsible for Proenza Schoulers amazing Spring 2010 prints. Inspired by tropical fish, Cardenas was able to capture the beautiful colours and glow of the water world.  Alejandro has been art directing for the label since the early days when his pals Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were fresh out of Parsons. Today he remains an artist in his own right, as he was before Proenza Schouler, working primarily with watercolour and ink.ale

Yotel – not for claustrophobics

Uncategorized
.

Not too long ago I booked a flight from Norway back to LA and managed to miss the fact that I had to sleep the night at Heathrow airport. This came as a shock once I checked in, and the fact that all the hotels around Heathrow were miles away and quite expensive, did not make the trip any better. So the night consisted of twisting and turning in a cold chair at the worst terminal they have, constantly sneaking a peak at my bag making sure no one was creeping up on me. I just saw a post about Sleepbox concept and did a second check and found that some smart people just took it a step further and created the Yotel. So if you’re ever stuck in Heathrow for the night, then check out Yotel for a bed, or kick it at a cold chair as I did.

THE BOSS RETURNS in 2012

Uncategorized
.

“The decision to build a modern Boss was not entered into lightly,” said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Global Product Development. “The entire team at Ford felt the time was right and with the right ingredients, the world-class 2011 Mustang could support a successful, race-bred, worthy successor to the original Boss 302. For us that meant a production Mustang that could top one of the world’s best – the 2010 BMW M3 – in lap times at Laguna Seca. We met our expectations.”

Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak says, “We were either going to do it right or not do it at all – no one on the team was going to let Boss become a sticker and wheel package.” Damn right.

With summer going from cold to hot back to cold then warm , warmer and finally hot again, all in the coarse of a week, I thought it wouldn’t be to late to run this spring 2010 editorial by Chanel as seen in FLAUNT Magazine.

Aerodynamic Alize

Uncategorized
.

Finding a balance between lightweight aerodynamics and race ready frame structure, the NeilPryde Alize is the ultimate in high-performance road bikes. Got to love the way this frame was put together, and the visuals in the design process. The aggressive aerofoil profile looks great and is highly functional, forcing airflow to remain laminar around the down tube, the seat tube and rear wheel. This increases the turbulent energy in this area, helping the rider somehow…..all over my head, but looks fantastic.

“I used to pray every night that God would make me crazy”

Looks like God has answered Lady Gaga’s prayers. She opens up in the September issue of Vanity Fair about drugs, fame, her fans, and why she thinks sex will deplete her of her creative energy. Here are a few photos from the magazine shoot, and I have to admit I expected a little more. Scan 11Scan 14Scan 154Scan 18

The first ever espresso machine – Circa 2000 BC.

Uncategorized
.

A furthered exploration inspired by Béton Brut, a modern product application conveys well in a student concept by Shmuel Linski. For a material as raw and bold as unfinished concrete to house the process of refined espresso making, an artistic statement of the balance of opposites is nothing more than apparent. In addition, surface temperatures are evenly dispersed and controlled through the concrete’s nature. Seeing this project to production would be music to the ears of FedEx and UPS as well as some graff artists for a dope marketing collabo. hahaa.
