“After announcing the legendary Keith Hufnagel on their team, California eyewear brand IVI teamed up with HUF to release a special edition of their Standard silhouette for Spring/Summer 2013. Block the sun – not your shine – in these retro-inspired silhouettes, which come just in time for the new season. From a technical standpoint, they feature Mazzucchelli acetates and upgraded Zeiss lenses lenses with internal AR coatings to help reduce reflection for a pristine eyewear package. Available in [ two limited edition ] color schemes, the HUF x IVI Standard Sunglasses are now available on each brand’s website starting at 12pm PST on Friday, May 17.” – via HypebeastComments (0)
I’ve been looking at different artist and font inspiration lately, and came across a British artist by the name of Nicolai Sclater aka the Ornamental Conifer. Fueled by coffee and cigarettes this self-coined sign painter kills it with great typography fonts and retro aesthetics on any medium/surface. Head over to his website for more on the Ornamental Conifer, meanwhile enjoy this short clip by Chris Read from when Nicolai laid down some graphics at the Great Frog store in London.Comments (0)
“Pro-skater and clothing line founder Keith Hufnagel and his brand HUF have collaborated with young premium eyewear brand [and Mage Design client] IVI on a pair of exclusive sunglasses. The outcome is “The Standard”, featuring an Italian hand-made acetate frame and Carl Zeiss Vision sun lenses, with the result being a casual and premium pair of sunglasses, available in overall three colorways. The sunglasses come nicely packaged bright green HUF box, similar to all HUF footwear.
We sat down with Keith Hufnagel to talk about the collaboration and did a little tour with him to gift some of his friends with the new shades. We visit Van Styles, Giovanni Reda, Jon Buscemi and others.”
