THE ENCLAVE

.

Richard Mosse’s The Enclave documents rebel enclaves and sites of human rights violations in eastern Congo at a time of war. A war which is often tragically overlooked by the world and has resulted in 5.4 million deaths since 1998. Mosse captures these images using an extinct type of infrared film once used by the military to detect camouflaged areas by air, thus resulting in Technicolor. Recently, Mosse won the £30,000 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for The Enclave.

Icon Thriftmaster – love it or hate it

.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the Icon guys for a while; they have taken a lot of my favorite classic cars and married the timeless styling with a modern performance package. Although they don’t always stay true to certain design details, their overall approach I feel is honorable.

That being said, I am not so sure the new Thriftmaster model price tag of 250 000 usd does the same. This is a truck for the certain rich person that loves the old time styling but likes the handling of a new car. Personally I would rather browse craigslist for something closer to the original and to a little more overcoming price tag. Love it or hate it, I feel that Icon put in some solid thought to the parts and designed the truck with fundamentally proud mid-century American styling.
