.The website of Los Angeles based photographer Moni Hayworth is the kind where you end up hypnotically clicking through page after page of her work, relinquishing any concern of having been there for way too long. Her “lo-fi” short stories focus on the raw, wild characters behind Los Angeles’ youth and fill a void for street style inspiration that is truly authentic- the kind of stuff that just can’t be copied. Her vision reminds me of old Patti Smith/ Robert Mapplethorpe photos from inside their clinton Hill apartment, unpretentious and unpretending of being anything other than “exactly who they were”. Visit her site, Johnny’s Bird, here.

.Mage Design’s latest creative partner, Frends, launches a revamped women’s headphone collection in Apple stores today; with an introduction on behalf of the New York Times‘ online publication, “The Get”.
Helmed by co-owner and founder Keir Dillon, the Frends team worked closely alongside Mage Design to develop a “refined and stylish” headphone which “exudes luxury and hints at grace”. This entirely fresh direction for the brand, aided in part by their ambassador, model/actress Noot Seer, was developed by our team through a series of concept presentations and final design renderings (seen below).

.Summer is far from over
here in Los Angeles, but the Mage crew is already ready and waiting for the snow season to get started. Of course, there’s nothing like photos of babes in outerwear to make us even a bit more antsy for that time of year… The “Aspen Girls” spread from an 1971 issue of Life Magazine gives a bit (okay, maybe a lot) of historical inspiration for your 2012-13 season get up. I mean, how does one beat riding their bike in clogs across the snow?
