I’m not the one for “epic” riding films where the narrator describes the adventure as an escape from reality and where it becomes a verbal vomit of over explanations, but something about this video grabbed my attention. I have heard of Ladakh before and seen multiple videos about the region and the dream would be to one day travel those treacherous roads, so to see someone doing this during the off-season is quite spectacular.
Filmmaker Andrew David Watson was in India, traveling home from Sri Lanka and decided to check out this region. Ladakh is translated as the land of high passes, and is an isolated mountain region in the most northern tip of India. Even though it was the end of winter there, he was able to rent a 350cc Royal Enfield and ride in the shadow of giants. This is a short video of his adventure.
I Love seeing what inspires brands and seeing behind the scenes of collections. Click the link and watch the entire video, very inspiring.Comments (0)
The Born-Free Show is about the love of old motorcycles and like minded individuals having a good time together and enjoying these bikes of the past. With the yearly event drawing near, Scott Pomier teamed up with one of the legends of the motorcycle world to produce a video feature on his bike build.Comments (0)
Richard Mosse’s The Enclave documents rebel enclaves and sites of human rights violations in eastern Congo at a time of war. A war which is often tragically overlooked by the world and has resulted in 5.4 million deaths since 1998. Mosse captures these images using an extinct type of infrared film once used by the military to detect camouflaged areas by air, thus resulting in Technicolor. Recently, Mosse won the £30,000 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for The Enclave.
The Impossible Image show an insight into the making of these images and the film that goes with it.Comments (0)
