We are of course talking about the Famous French Medal of Honor established by Napoleon Bonaparte, First Consul of the First Republic, on 19 May 1802. The Order is the highest decoration in France.
As a coterie of fashion folk headed to the Elysée presidential palace on Thursday to watch Karl Lagerfeld receive his own Legion, and ended up holding an impromptu garden party with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, former model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
Lagerfeld’s medal was a one-of-a-kind creation made to order by the French Mint and Chanel’s high jewelry workshops as a surprise for the designer, who for once was lost for words. “I am much better at making small talk than at giving speeches,” Lagerfeld said. “If it wasn’t for 99 percent of the people in this room, it would all amount to nothing. So in fact, this is for me but it is also for all of you.”
As guests mingled afterward, Bruni-Sarkozy flung open the doors to the garden, normally off limits except for the annual Bastille Day reception on July 14. “Wonderful,” murmured Amanda Harlech as she whipped out her BlackBerry to take souvenir photos.

Here are some nice undercover pics of Jerome Mage, Dimitri Coste and Alex De Vos at the Gallery Seven in Paris.
Jerome Mage is, of course, the Creative Director behind MARCH LA.B. Dimitri directed of all the MARCH LA.B videos projected on our good friends here in these photos. And Alex is not only a fine collector of vintage helmets, but is also the owner of the Gallery Seven, rue Bonaparte in Paris and the host of the MARCH LA.B launch.

The March LA.B inaugural party along the LA/Biarritz exhibition turn into a mad chaos around 10pm, blocking the entire Rue Bonaparte. The crowd was completely packed inside and outside, it seems everyone genuinely really enjoyed themselves and that is the most important.
We will post in the next couple of days more photos from the launch, here are some quick Iphone pics again.

The March LA.B launch in Paris went fantastic.
The turn around was realy stunning and the pictures from Dimitri Costes top notch. Here are some quick pics from my Iphone of the day before the launch, setting everything in place. One room was dedicated to the Neo-Second emperial style of Biarrtiz displaying a 1930’s tiger skin. the Other room was anchered in a more modern california mood with a vintage 1960’s Jacobsen chair. Large picture frames of Dimitri Coste photos in each room of the Gallery Seven.
A big thanks to Alexandre De Vos of the gallery Seven for hosting the Los Angeles/Biarritz Exhibit.
More pics to come.
